Denmark bans the burqa (and fake beards, for good measure)

Denmark has become the latest European nation to ban the burqa and niqab, face coverings worn by some Muslim women. [The Guardian]
The country's parliament recently approved a bill that would ban people from wearing garments that fully cover their face in public, including ski masks, face masks, and fake beards. [Deutsche Welle]
Lawmakers say the new law isn't intended to discriminate against religion, saying headscarves, turbans, and yarmulkes are still allowed. [France 24]
But many advocates believe the restrictions are targeted toward Muslim women, and some human rights advocates are concerned it could limit the freedom of these women if their husbands or fathers make them stay inside the home in lieu of wearing burqas and niqabs in public.
